Malaysia has just confirmed its first cases of the Coronavirus infection in the country.

The Minister of Health of Malaysia Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad recently confirmed this while speaking in a news conference. He said that the affected persons are of Chinese decent and related to the 66-years old man who tested positive to the virus.

Among the persons infected is the wife of the infected man, and two of their grandchildren aged 11 and 2 years old. They are presently admitted into the Sungai Buloh hospital in Kuala Lumpur where they are being observed and are said to be in stable conditions, the Minister said.

However, other people in the group of eight including the mother of the children have tested negative to the virus.

One of the symptoms of the newly identified Coronavirus is pneumonia, which has be fatal in some cases so far.The Malaysian airport has increased screening of people coming in from China and other countries in a bid to minimize the spread of the virus.

In a recent statement, the Health Ministry has just confirmed the fourth case in Malaysia. The Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement says that the fourth case is from a man in his 40s who arrived Johor Bahru from Singapore by bus in the company of 17 other people china including his wife and child on January 22.

The victim is said to be stable except for the fever and coughing he has. Other 17 passengers with have also been located, screened and quarantined until their test results are known. Although presently  they are not showing any symptoms yet.
